Care and Maintenance
Lumera pieces are designed for everyday use and long-term durability. Proper care will help preserve the appearance and finish of your piece for years to come.
Everyday Cleaning
For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge with warm water and a mild household cleaner.
Wipe the surface clean and dry with a soft cloth to minimize water spots and residue.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals & Abrasives
Do not use highly abrasive cleaners, aggressive scouring pads, or harsh chemicals unless specifically approved for the material.
Clean spills promptly, particularly strongly colored, acidic, or chemical substances.
Heat Protection
Although solid-surface materials are durable, direct exposure to excessive heat can damage the surface.
Do not place hot cookware, styling tools, or other high-temperature objects directly on the surface. Always use a trivet, heat pad, or other protective barrier.
Scratches & Everyday Wear
Minor scratches and signs of use may develop over time, particularly on darker colors and high-use surfaces.
One advantage of solid surface is that many minor scratches and surface imperfections can be professionally refinished or repaired. Do not sand, polish, or attempt significant repairs without first contacting Lumera for guidance.
Integrated Sinks
Clean integrated solid-surface sinks with warm water, a mild cleaner, and a non-abrasive sponge or cloth.
Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals or extreme temperatures, and do not pour boiling liquids directly into the sink without running cool water when appropriate.
Preventing Damage
Avoid standing, sitting, or placing excessive concentrated weight on countertops, vanity tops, shelves, or unsupported areas unless the product was specifically designed for that purpose.
Do not cut directly on the surface. Use a cutting board or other appropriate protective surface.
Repairs & Refinishing
Unlike many conventional materials, solid surface can often be repaired or refinished if damaged.
If your Lumera piece becomes scratched, chipped, damaged, or requires refinishing, contact us before attempting a repair. Our team can recommend the appropriate solution based on the material and finish.
Material-Specific Care
Care requirements may vary depending on the material used in your Lumera piece. Where applicable, the material manufacturer's care and maintenance recommendations should also be followed.
